S.O.H2O is a grassroots movement dedicated to protecting water, demanding justice, and educating the public on PFAS contamination in Wisconsin and beyond. PFAS pollution has contaminated drinking water, rivers, and farmland across the country—devastating families, farmers, and entire communities. These toxic chemicals don’t break down over time, so exposure keeps building. PFAS are linked to cancer, immune system issues, and developmental delays in children.

Born on the 1st Earth Day: Clean Wisconsin's history and future
In 1970, people across the country were waking up to a growing crisis. Pollution was everywhere. Natural places were disappearing. That spring, Earth Day was born, and so was Clean Wisconsin. Back then, the group was known as Wisconsin’s Environmental Decade, a small but determined group of advocates who believed that the energy of that first Earth Day could be turned into real, lasting change. Today, Clean Wisconsin is the state's oldest and largest organization fighting to protect safe water, clean air, healthy land and a livable climate.
